Kindergarten’s Library Trip

Kindergarten students sure do love their books!

Earlier this month, all Kindergarten students walked to the Kendall Young Library.

“Mrs. Brown read a story and talked to them about the children’s library,” teacher Melissa Larson said. “They all got to choose a book to read while they were there and were encouraged to come back with their parents!”

Larson said they went to the library because they had read the story Miss Bindergarten Takes a Field Trip with Kindergarten.

“It is a story from our reading series about a class who visits many places in the community, including the library,” she said.

Below are some photos of the students at the library.

Pleasant View Update!

Pleasant View Elementary is still getting a facelift these days, but it’s all coming together!

One of the exciting projects is the playground.

“Crews are busy with changes,” Pleasant View Secretary Meredith Mickelson said. “So far, an old tree has been removed on the west side of the parking lot. A handicap ramp is also being built for easy access, and safe surface will also be a safety update for the new school year.”

According to Mickelson, the parking lot is also getting renovated.

“They are replacing the east ½ of the main parking lot,” she said. “They are also working on the roof.”

The First Grade hallway is still a work-in-progress, as is the library.

Mickelson said that different teacher orders are arriving daily, and since the classrooms aren’t quite ready for these new items, the office is now overflowing with these items instead. She notes that construction workers are working hard!

Below are some new photos provided by Mickelson:
