Last week brought some exciting “celebrities” to our schools.
October 14th-18th was National School Lunch Week, and this year Webster City Community School District participated for the first time.
“We really wanted to encourage staff and students to eat breakfast and lunch at school,” Assistant Food Director Lori Hartnett said. “We also wanted to promote healthy food choices for all.”
Pleasant View Elementary and Sunset Heights Elementary each had a nutritional education day and taste testing to encourage students to eat “clean and green.”
Hartnett visited Pleasant View on Tuesday, October 15, and Sunset Heights on Wednesday, October 16.
“PV and SS tried blueberries and sugar snap peas,” Hartnett said. “They also received a coloring page to take home.”
